Even more sketches...

At least this blog is living up to the name. So yeah, a couple more sketches. I'm going to try and break away from the fantasy thing for a bit. And I really need to do some more design stuff. I've gotten lax and that's never a good thing.

Which one do I prefer?

I'm kind of torn. I like that it's cleaner looking but the other (posted) version looks more alive with the red lines peaking through the inks. It's hard to choose between my babies.

And for me to spell "choose".

I don't think it came out as well as I would've liked. I'm trying to utilize a thick outline then switching to a thinner one for the details. It's something I still need to work on.

Having some major computer issues this week which is why I haven't updated in a while.

Hopefully, I'll be up and running by early next week.

Here's a trio of drawings I did over the weekend. I thought about cleaning them up about but I love the looseness of the lines.

Wow!

Going through some discs, I stumbled across this piece I did. It's a spoof of those old sci-fi/self help book covers. And being the wit that I am, came up with an original name for the "author".

Another piece using photos as brushes. I also got to experiment with some font stylings. It's not complex but I think the simplicity suits this.

I read an article in a design magazine about using photos as brushes in Photoshop. So here's my attempt. Just some random images but the results are....interesting. Updated to fix up some elements and add a few more.
